Working Together to Safeguard Children

The Prevent strategy, published by the Government in 2011, is part of the overall counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST. The aim of the Prevent strategy is to reduce the threat to the UK from terrorism by stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead at Regency High School has undertaken PREVENT training and all staff in the school have received subsequent training and information in relation to identifying pupils who might be drawn in to terrorism. More information on the PREVENT Strategy can be found in the school's Safeguarding Policy.
